Chakra Yoga

"Chakra" is a Sanskrit word that means "gateway", "point", "wheel" or "vortex" and refers to energy centers within the physical body. "Yoga", as many of us already know, means "union". According to the philosophy and practice of Yoga, there are seven major chakras, all of which have their own "essence" and, in addition, operate and work together as one "essence" or one complete, whole system of healing. In this class, we work with the chakras and use them as tools to gain a deeper understanding of the self and the ways in which we relate to life and the world around us.

Beginning Thursday, August 19th, we start with the 1st chakra and will explore one of the seven chakras every week, while the 8th week of each series will focus on ways that we can bring together and integrate all of the chakras. Each 75 minute class weaves asana, pranayama, mantra, meditation and mudra together, creating a journey through all aspects of the human experience and encouraging us to unite with our own greatest potential and highest vibration in life. As we begin to incorporate emotions, feelings, physical sensations and thought patterns into our Yoga asana practice, our participation in life off the mat begins to deepen in unexpected ways....I look forward to journeying with you

Yoga Thrive!

Yoga Thrive! is a 7 week progressive (each class builds on the previous), research-based Yoga program designed to create and maintain wellness in the body and mind through conscious movement and breathing techniques that enable us to feel at ease in our lives. By learning how to move in a pain-free way, we will stimulate and strengthen the para-sympathetic nervous system, creating balance and space in the body, so that we may transition from a state of "surviving" to one of THRIVING. Yoga Thrive! (created by Susi Hately of Functional Synergy) is open to all who
experience chronic pain, as well as their support persons. For more information about Yoga Thrive! visit functionalsynergy.com.

Yoga for Runners

Yoga for Runners is for Runners, Joggers and Walkers. This class is focused on a series of poses that strengthens and stabilizes common running muscles and joints. Clients can expect to stretch out the hips and hamstrings, increase their agility, and focus on the element of balance. This class will improve a client's running practice, as they will walk away with longer strides, being conscious of their core, with a feeling of balance and easier cardio breath.

Private Lessons on Pilates Equipment

Enjoy a private lesson on the reformer/cadillac. The pilates equipment can either make the pilates exercises more rehabilitative or more challenging, whatever is applicable to your situation. Since every body is different, this one-on-one experience will allow you to gain feedback on your specific postural needs and add layers to your knowledge of the pilates mat exercises.
